Latch,

You familiar with this guy?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Ross

I'd be scanning the tv channels and he'd be on and you just couldn't change the channel. Watching him paint was mesmerizing. He'd start with a blank canvas and when he was done, there was this really great picture.

He would narrate while he was painting which had this calming effect, almost hypnotic (he probably could have told me halfway through his picture to go kill a bunch of people and I would have done it).

All in all, really cool to watch him paint.

TX he is on the Discovery channel every morning to this day, sometimes his son does it. I will watch him from time to time but, and this is a problem for those guys, he seems to do a variation on the same picture every time. If it ain't got a pine tree in it with a snowy capped mountain and lake in the back ground type of thing, his work is still superb though and I love his soft voice as he calls his creations by names, like I'll put this little fellow in here, and he has a friend, thats nice.

I did not know that he had died, shame

Yes i've seen his shows Bill, he was a great artist, he also had a compassionate nature and his love for animals shone through.
You're right about his delivery as well, it was almost hypnotic, he was a natural for TV, i knew that he had died and was saddened when i read it in one of the tabloids in this country.
As he said at the end of every show, 'God bless and take care my friend' (y)

Awesome! Just got to look at it at it is great!!!

Glad it was worth the wait ! :P ;) (y) Cheers Dyl

Brilliant Latch (y)
