Very true.
If we look at it from his point of view though, he's taking a massive step down, and if you were a foreign player currently at Barca and thought you may have had a chance of moving to the biggest club in England, and then facing the prospect of ending up here, would you be happy? I wouldn't.
That said, there is something about this saga and him that I don't like.

Whilst I agree we're potentially overpaying, I think Barca also got a good deal for him in the first place, and I feel like we have to pay a bit more than teams like Barca might as we don't have the same negotiating strength; I mean, they have titles, Champions League trophies and Messi. We have a dusty trophy cabinet and Michael Keane.
