Underhanded from Barca but smart at the same time.

They're perfectly showing the issue with this early window close. European teams can sit back and laugh at English clubs panicking knowing the deals have to be done by tomorrow whereas the rest of them can sit back, relax and create bidding wars over players who even if they don't join a side in the UK will still sell for initial value to another european team in the remaining month of the window.

Why they thought this was a smart idea to stop teams moaning at the beginning of the season about players being unsettled is ridiculous when the rest of europe can still bid on players for the whole month anyway.

The thing is that thus is the only season where this scenario will happen though. The majority of spending in Europe comes from premier league money.

I think that there is going to be a huge drop off in spending across Europe once the premier league window shuts. Then we will see the like of barca realise that they need to shift players and have no buyers.

I firmly believe that if mina isn't sold by 5pm tomorrow he'll end up on loan at Lyon. That's the thing with this window closing early, if everyone just chilled out and just went "how much? Nah, you're alright" and walked away from deals like mina. Then teams in Europe would fall in line and be scared of getting their fingers burnt.

Also with the window closing no premier league team is going to sell players they want to keep once the window shuts. Hence why courtous has been missing training and the charity shield. To force through a move before the window shuts because he knows and real knows if he's there at 5:01pm on Thursday he's there till January.

I predict that within two seasons the rest of Europe will be closing there transfer windows the same time we do.
