Everton chase £22m Marcos Rojo...

Everton are hoping to sign Marcos Rojo from Manchester United for £22million before the transfer window closes.

The permanent deal for the 28-year-old Argentinean defender could go down to the wire once Everton are finalised their moves for the Barcelona pair Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.​

Officials are first concluding the moves for the players with Mina due to sign on a permanent deal while Gomes – who has a slight injury but not one to prevent the move – agreeing a one-year loan deal.​

The signing of Rojo is also now expected to happen which is intriguing given the suggestions out of United were that they would not allow him to go before a replacement was signed. It remains to be seen if that happens.​

Rojo has been told he can leave with United having four other centre-halves but Jose Mourinho has been pushing hard to bring in another one.​

I for one would be extremely happy with Rojo and Mina.
