2020/21 Yerry Mina

An absolute colossus yesterday, fighting for every ball and throwing his body in front of shots. I've always liked big Herald, as he gets what the club is about, but there's been questions about his injuries and quality of concentration - hopefully he is sorting that out now.

He just edged Doucs and Hamez for motm, but how great is it that we're having a difficult job actually picking motm!

Just watched the tunnel access video the club have just put out and I'm a big fan of Yerry doing about 4 or 5 different celebrations when he scored that goal.

Less sure about the dab handshake him and James seem to have going on but I'll give him a pass.

Godfrey doesn't look physically weak mate, the opposite, he looks a unit.
Ben Godfrey is not competition for Mina. At least not this season.

Godfrey is Holgate mark-2. Quick and a good passer but physically weak. Mina is a big presence
who rules the penalty area and who will not get rag-dolled as did Holgate by Giroud at CFC last season.

Playing away at Palace you need... Mina for the aerial onslaught . Playing away anywhere you need Mina
because unless a defense team has two strong headers of the ball then it is in trouble. That is why Mina and Kean
should always start. When Holgate plays the attack is looking to play on Holgate's weakness at every dead ball delivery.
Ben Godfrey in the gym.

Physically weak you say

Physically weak you say

He looks a very fit, powerful lad. Naturally very powerful too, whereas with some you can see it's mainly thrugh hard work (you can see where his dad would have played rugby league).

The point Re Mina is he's 6 ft 5. There aren't many guys that height about. So I suppose it's a different type of physically imposing. Godfrey will not perhaps be as dominant in the air, but should cover the ground. It's a logn way from Jagielka and Williams though!

If he scores against the RS next week the whole team could do the river dance in celebration, for all I care.
