Look at the post I responded to though. He’s played nearly 60% of the games. It’s not half a dozen games a season is it?

What’s the average outfield player %? 85%? He gets injuries but it’s not like he’s never available.

The average for any decent player in a large squad would be about 80% and that would include being rested or rotated. We are talking about a player though who has played in a paper thin squad so short of quality in his position that he is one of the first names on the teamsheet if he is available to play.

So 60% of games played actually means he was totally unavailable for 40% of them and that is before we even start to think about the number of games he had started and then find off injured in.

Also, it's one thing to get through a game but not be available to the next one.

It's another thing entirely to have to come out of games in the first half. He drastically affected the Newcastle game when he had to get subbed off after Gray already had to come off

THere has to be consistency with a player, not participating in every other game or 3.

He is going to little use to us if he continues to miss games at the rate he has. Take into account his wages as well. I’d sell to the first club who offers to take him off our hands. It’s such a shame as he’s easily our best central defender, but he’s no use to us, sat on a treatment table half of the time.
