I know he's injury prone but if he wasn't it would be a perfect pairing. Just a shame he can't stay fit, can't see us getting Koulibaly anyway but when Mina's on the pitch he's definitely our best CB.

His last injury had me thinking we should cut our losses and sell this summer, but the more I think about it, I'd hand him a new contract today no question, even on his big wages. He's not so perma-injured that he doesn't still hold value in the market. It's just very disruptive in a position where you want the least amount of disruption. With a new long term contract signed we could still sell him, and demand more money. To be fair we probably have offered him one, but I wouldn't blame him for wanting to wait to see where we're headed post Carlo.

Finding good center halves is difficult, as you said. You either pay huge money or take a gamble. I can't see us selling both him and Keane in one window, and I want Keane out of this club more than pretty much anybody.

Yep he's great when he's not injured but unfortunately he gets injured too much, not sure how much that's on him or our medical staff as we do seem to be pretty bad with injured players
