The club aren't extending his contract. He didn't have a choice.

Lampard and Benitez ruined him and Calvert Lewin really by rushing them back when they clearly weren’t fit.

It's a real shame this situation, top class cb with a big presence, seems to be really popular with the other players and he's capable of being an absolute piece of work on the pitch, something we sorely lack throughout the squad, and have done for so long.

You'd like to think the club tried to work something out along the lines of an incentivised contract with a reduced base, but who knows, I wish him good luck if he moves on
 
He’s been very good when he’s been able to get himself on the pitch but it’s time for him to move on. He’s not even played 100 games in all competitions over 5 years and has proved himself completely unreliable time and time again. We simply can’t carry people like this any longer.
 

A CB has our most advanced touch today. Even stranger, it was him striding out from the back that unnerved bournemouth, then spread the play and kept running.

Come on Yerry laa, earn that sign on bonus from how many years ago sat on your ass on the bench for 60% of the time since. Do it for Everton south america...
