Not to mention everybody saying it was a loan and he would be back at Barca within a year.

That’s the problem. At this stage should look at insurance options

I agree Andy but the point I was making is that at the time he seemed a good buy now we need a good bye

See earlier post mentioning his world Cup. Regards hindsight a good few of us wondered at the time about the indecent haste at which Barca let him go. It hasn't taken me four years to realise why.
I get that he seems to be a fun guy around the club as shown in his lockdown tik tok dance video but other than a few cameo performances distinctly below average.

The only reason we bought him was because of his goal against England, a typical Everton knee jerk signing. If we'd done our homework properly we may have sussed out his rather flakey nature. You can bet your bottom dollar that some unheard of no mark will score a once in a lifetime worldie in the next few weeks and we'll be at the head of the queue to sign him.

He's no longer a viable member of the squad, if that were ever the case.

Another poor signing for attitude and fitness.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the players have to be judged on their attitude as well as ability and nobody did this better than Moist. He used to meet the player and if he didn't get a good feeling he'd pull the deal. We lost out on some players, I think Flamini might have been one, however largely he recruited a squad of greater resilience than the ones that have followed.

His squads always let us down at the worst possible times.

Mina is in Saha territory (A Moyes signing of course).
