You`ll definitely go down this season

I always believed Man City fans where the down to earth types from the city of Manchester but it appears many of them are now living in cloud cuckoo land. City may well finish ahead of us this season but they will not eclipse United and Chelsea for several years yet, but to say Everton will go down is completely ludicrous. We will pick the tempo up and will finish 7th this season which will be a downturn in our fortunes over recent seasons, but then again, we dont have the luxury of assembling fantasy teams. Who would i rather have between Mark Hughes and David Moyes?? Moyes every time, at least he has to use his brains to build a squad, not just a case to opening a cheque book offering ridiculous money to all and sundrie. We can all do that on Football manager.

Could still finish in the top 5 mate

Early days yet early season always produces an unreal picture

If its any comfort United traditionalty start slow

Can I just point out that its very likely this massive weapon is a Sunderland fan.

I base this on :

Ian Porterfield has died today. He scored the stunning goal for Sunderland against Leeds in the 1973 F.A. Cup final.

That is all.

Spot on Goat

He died in 2007 though

Indeed, I can't believe the number of responses made assuming this mackem was a manc.

It was the 2nd anniversary of Porterfield's death on the 11th, hence the name I suppose.

was the thread starter a sunderland fan?

either way ive just given out my first negative rep to someone :D

i thought there fans have always been ok to be honest and you always get the odd one or two tools so dont judge them all like him.:)

sunderland could also give us advice on lower league football super lawrie mac was their saviour wasn't he ?

they could also advise us on what it's like actually being in 1973, what it was like to see tricky trev bamboozle their defence before hitting a goal of the season, also on constant mediocrity and the long term effects of a daily portion of suet.

they really hate the r/s too , for relegating them in the 60's or something, but then that was only a couple of years ago for them.

Dare I... dare I... dare I... ?
Oh go on then, are Sunderland (AND City for that matter) in a newer stadium than us Blues? Whether it is 2009 or 1973 today, both sets of their respective Home fans get to enjoy unobstructed views in their stadia.
