I’ve said this before but I’ll repeat it, please don’t blame Glen Keeley for that poor performance, that was down to Howard Kendall, Kelley hadn’t played all season while at Blackburn, he wasn’t match fit, told Kendall he wasn’t ready, but Howard talked him into playing, Glen was poor, sent off after about thirty five minutes, Howard should have listened. Keeley was a very good experienced centre back who played hundreds of games foeBlackburn Rovers and other clubs, you cannot perform at your best if you are not fit, I put the blame on Kendall for playing him, Neville Southall was sent on loan after that game, other players were dropped, the fact is Howard was struggling at that time and should have listened to Keeley, it was a desperate decision to play him and a complete cock up followed. No worries, BC.....I often do the same sort of thing when posting on a thread with more than one page
But hey.....that game has left such in indentation on the collective memory of Evertonians of a certain age it is a wonder big Glen’s debut has not had more mentions
You think this is bad son? Mike Walker was our manager and I cannot name a single player in his team.
Pretty much the same team that started the FA Cup final in 95!
You think that's bad son? I remember being 2-0 up against west ham with 10 minutes to go and losing 3-2.
What did we do in a past life to have to endure this type of torment in this life? You think that's bad son? I remember being 2-0 up against the RS with 21 minutes to go and losing 3-2
What did we do in a past life to have to endure this type of torment in this life?
