Has anybody seen much of Kenny since he's been out there? Just wondering if he actually looks like he's improved as a player or if it's just that he's more suited to the league/formation or whatever that he's currently in? My concerns over Kenny have mainly been over his physical attributes which I didn't really think he could improve on too much, so interested to see what people who've been watching him think.
reports from the great posters on the thread have been really positive

Yeah I read the updates, i'm just asking if anybody has actually seen him much. I understand that Schalke fans like him (although the reports suggest that they generally tend to rate his performances as quite good rather than absolutely fantastic as is sometimes put forward on here). I'm more wondering if anyone has noticed differences between his performances for Schalke and his performances for us/England under 21s, which may suggest that he's actually progressed as a player, rather than just being a good fit at Schalke.

I'm sure one or 2 will respond. They watch all sorts of games. I'm lucky to get to see our games half the time :)

Can Dowell's loan be ended? Seems a sensible option to take when we are so short in midfield. What would we do if Sigurdsson gets injured (don't say 'cheer!')? Dowell could provide cover for him. If not then we continue to rely on Schneiderlin. If we bring back Dowell and play him ahead of Schneiderlin it would at least send a message to Schneiderlin and his advisers that he has no future at the club. With luck we may get rid of him and his obscene wage which is £100,000 a week until the end of June 2021, i.e.£7.8 million by the end of his contract.

And ponder this – we paid £20 million for him and by the end of the contract will have paid him £26 million in wages. Yes that is £46 million for possibly the slowest player in the whole league who seems incapable of passing the ball forwards.

It is criminal the way money has been wasted when young players could have been brought through and given a chance. It looks like we are about to make an almighty balls up with Kenny and I have no doubt that Gordon will soon follow.

Adedoyin is back at Everton, his loans been terminated.

Dowell's going to Wigan on loan now. I imagine so he'll play every game with them struggling.

He hasn't played for months now, if we can find another club to take him for the rest of this season I'm sure Derby would be happy to end the loan, if he's playing somewhere we might still have a chance of getting a small fee for him in the summer.

....sounds like you’re getting your wish, Bud, it looks like Dowell is off to Wigan.

That went well

Seen a few matches in the gym, he seems to fit the style of play in that league which is fast incisive attacking stuff with regular possession turnovers.

Dowell started for Wigan, currently 2 down to Leicester
I saw brief glimpses of him in the highlights, good enough to play regularly in the Wigan team, and a chance for him to prove he can up his work rate and help a team battling relegation......... otherwise he’s stuck with a label of being a luxury when fighting relegation and not good enough for teams with promotion aspirations.

...I don’t know his ‘stats’ but I wouldn’t be surprised if his workrate is reasonable. I think languid movers like him often give the impression they’re not putting in a shift, but Dowell seems to get behind the ball when the opposition has possession. He‘s most effective when he’s on the ball but he does tend to drift out of games, though.
