Young EFC Players Out On Loan 2020-21

Apologies for off topic, I noticed Antony Evans was playing on loan for Crew against Simms’s Blackpool.

Pennington, Baningime, Connolly, Gordon and Simms all start tonight. Branthwaite on the bench and Gibson not even in the squad so I suspect he may be injured. I hope Baningime can do enough to tempt a club to buy him otherwise we may have another year of him blocking the u23s.

PS. Bolasie is also on the bench.

Not much to see of our lads in the highlights, but Pennington had a goal taken away from him by an offside player on his own team, then lost his man for their late goal.

Sure looks intentional to me. Simms opens himself up, eyes on his teammate about to shoot the ball - looks like a hockey player standing in front of goal hoping to re-direct the puck. Clever boy.

I hope they both find clubs. They are probably at the right level for their abilities. Hope we've learnt from these 2 contract wise. Hasnt helped either player or the club.

No mention of an injury so I guess just dropped.

I searched the press and couldn’t find anything. So yes, just dropped. He has had some poor games.
I hope it’s handled well though. It may be to let him get his head together because he was blamed for the last defeat. He’s still a great talent, but needs to be managed well.

I’m not sure dropping a young lad from the squad without a mention of it after a poor performance will help his head but I’m no manager lol

If a loan goes well, it’s great. If something goes badly, it can quickly turn into a nightmare. The loaning club have nothing invested in the players long term development.
Hope he’s ok.

From looking at the Blackburn bench I don't think they had a player whose primary position is central defender on it so Branthwaite could well have just picked up a knock and been left out

The complete silence is odd. You would think there would be some news if he was injured? Hes been in their first eleven, so to disappear without mention seems weird.
