I'm not saying strength isn't a help but to say it's the be all and end all isn't the case either. Players like Hleb and Giggs can't be more than 11 stone wet through. Look at Wright-Phillips and Lennon, both very small and both established internationals. If you've got talent then it doesn't matter how big or small you are. I for one am interested to see how Osman does in Europe this season as his game should flourish in the less physical environment.

all four have more pace than osman.

so instead of strenght, and power, it is their speed that enables them to flourish.
 

Fabregas only weighs 11 stone and isn't quick either. I guess if you're big then you can get away with being average more but if you're top class then I don't think your size matters. After all, Osman is only 5lbs lighter than Arteta and I can't imagine those 5lbs make that much difference.
