Schoolboy paper round, then the Royal Navy. Best jobs I ever had probably because I was young, paid loads, and apart from work, had no responsibilities. Happy days.

Drivers mate for me dad during school summer holidays,The best run ever was for crawfords, Binns rd,we got over loaded with an extra 12 cartons of Jaffa Cakes. While out on the run i had to go to all the corner shops and sell them cheap to the shop owners.I was flush for weeks(y)

Collected glasses at the bar of a hotel not far from me.

It wasn't too bad but overall I didn't enjoy it & disliked the fact that the people serving were earning more than me for doing easier work but I was earning around £30 a night 1 or 2 nights a week & having some spends while going to college made it worth it

Kershaw's seafood factory out in Maghull. Used to go home every night stinking of fish !
Wages weren't bad for a school leaver in 1982 - £38.00 per week.

Working in Farmfoods in Birkenhead on a YTS. £40pw. Walked out after they made me do a stock check on a Saturday and the manager had a go at me so I chucked a frozen chicken at him and made him give me my wages before I left

Got paid to umpire softball matches in the local league when I 14/15 - loads of fun, got the ASA qualifications and then was able to tell great big marines they were out or loadmouth parents to leave the ground...

My first taste of abusing power.

Next one was Burger King - not so much fun.

I used to play ASA tournaments here in the States back in my prime.

First job was a barman, rubbish wages but great craic. Got to meet plenty of characters, and got a good social rounding off to my education. give people respect and you will be respected, even if they are six sheets to the wind.
