yes my dad is bernie , it appears he was a bit of a lad

I was only something like 10 or 11 when he joined us, so don't remember much about him playing for us, but I do remember him playing against us in the cup ( if I remember rightly, the highlights were on the telly ) before we signed him, and he was an absolute beast !

Left under a cloud if I remember rightly, but still fondly remembered by us old timers as someone who never lacked heart.

His shirt semed to be skin tight. Always looked miles too small for him seem to remember him scoring a diving header in one game for us.
Other memory I have I was probably about 12 waiting outside goodison for autographs. Got a few including his. His was the only one that you could make out the name. Took his time and chatted to us. Nice moment for a couple of young fans
We could not find a kit to fit him he was a real comedy act by just being Bernie...... lol
Total waste of money like.......

some good stories , messed his everton chance up , but was a hero at walsall port vale and bradford , on the whole was a good career - he had a excellent non league career as well , managed to keep fit n played until age 38

Is Bernie your old man mate ?
I never saw him play live, but he was a right character by all accounts.

Edit : Only just seen the first post ! Ignore that question.

** Please remember when dad signed for everton he was a young man with no mrs or wife etc - no children no responsability and all that , he was young and bored and there was not much to do so off he went out every night ( did you meet him out ? ) so i guess this was a factor in his everton career , but most of you remember him or have heard about him.. HE SENDS HIS REGARDS TO EVERYONE players friends and foe, but he said special shout to the supporters who he said he rated as a great set of fans. he looks out for the everton scores and wants the club to win the league soon !!
