people in London don't give a stuff about us in the north, most have never been up here and think that we lag behind and are of a lower caste. yet the scruffiest teds on the box are from the east end.

I remember sitting in a pub in the mid eighties 85 I think with two mates and the Billy Bragg 'between the Wars' Tune came on the duke box

We were having a few pints but in the big scheme of things we had absolutely nothing **** all all we had all worked in the past and two of us had been in the Army none of us could get a job not even a low paid one

Believe me there were NO jobs about at that time the Country was on its arse
