Fully behind the boy but we'll still be relying heavily on DCL staying fit at least for this season whilst he adjusts to english football.

Could do with a short term stop gap signing up top to offer bit of experience like Antonio/Arnautovic.

The Sporting fans seem rather pleased with the reported fee they’re getting for him.

This is an investment for the future, maybe even the present.
This is the exact type of signing we have been wanting for years.

Even if we sign Chermiti I think it would be foolish to expect/rely on him to bring us the goals we need.

It’s entirely dependent on if DCL and Danjuma stay fit. No club outside of the top 6 can operate under the assumption that their top attacking players will miss entire seasons every year. If they’re both fit then they’re number 1 and 2 striking options and are hopefully good enough for the level we’re at (and we’d struggle to attract better). The problem we have is that our third and fourth choice options seemingly become first choice almost every season. You’d like to think though Chermiti is better than Simms otherwise there’d be little point in buying him.

It would be good to get another player but what good striker is going to join knowing full well if Calvert Lewin stays fit he’s highly unlikely to start. If we found one who would accept that deal I doubt we could afford him. Iheanacho would have been a decent option but even if we get him in it still leaves us in a dire situation if Calvert Lewin goes down.

Most non top 6 clubs are in that quandary though. Fulham and Wolves drop off a cliff when Mitrovic and Jimenez are out, Leeds without Bamford, even Spurs without Kane.

As soon as Calvert Lewin was injured again at the end of last season it pretty much ruined any chance of us moving him on and therefore any chance of us getting a top striker in.

Another wide forward to provide some goals would be good but do we have the money for that before the window closes?

A realistic Everton fan, good luck to this guy, but my honest opinion is that he is not the answer to our attacking problems.
