We have to hope we buy the two forwards we need because we can't be relying on this kid for any more than little cameos, and we can't allow him to be a scapegoat

Feel for this lad already as the foaming at the mouth about the incompetence of the club to address this for so long means it could well fall on a young lad with very little game play.
The sensible reality is this lad is likely to be nowhere near ready.

…..if we don’t get another striker in then this kid has to start games now when DCL isn’t available.

if he’s not already better than Maupay, Cannon et Al then its hard to see him ever being good enough. He’s young, he’s inexperienced and he’s raw but let him loose and manage his development in and out the first team. We’ll soon know if he’s a dud or not.

As much as we’d have liked him to start/come off the bench I’m not sure why people are surprised that a player who has never trained with the team or even been in this country would be in the squad.

For context, even Harry Kane, England captain and world class goalscorer didn’t start for Bayern yesterday and when he came off the bench (new to the country, never played with his team mates before) for 25 mins did nothing.

Awaiting Dyche to throw a wet blanket over this signing by calling him "one for the future", and saying things such as "we dont' know a whole lot about him", "he's got plenty of things we need to iron out of him", and "there's potential there for him to be a good player", before categorically ruling him out of contention for the month of August.
“He’s a young player and needs to get Premier League fit,” Dyche said. “He’s a young talent but we have to develop him and remind ourselves he’s a future player.

“If he surprises us and he’s ready straight away, then great. But he’s here to continue learning his game in the Premier League.

“We’re only in the testing phase to see where his body is. We’ll find a mixture of the games programme and get him involved to see where he’s at.”

Dyche yesterday.

What are next week’s lottery numbers please?

Its all guesswork with him but...

If he could only hold the ball up yesterday and lay it off he'd have already been better than Maupay.

DCL didnt get goals end of last season but just doing the above allowed effective team performances.

I can wait till he has 200 premier league appearances and dyche considers him worth a place on the bench.
Only after he scored 100 goals with the u21s he will be worthy of an appearance on the bench...you see he doesn't have the premier league experience than maupay has....:)

To be fair to Dyche, I didn't see a single pundit/commentator who has saw the lad play not mention he wasn't ready for the Premier League yet.

I suspect there's a reason Sporting weren't playing him and signing other strikers.

Dyche probably wouldn't have heard of him before a few weeks ago.
