If he's not in the squad and Dyche doesn't integrate him into the squad and sharpish, then it shows that Thelwell and Dyche aren't working together on targets and this was just another player Thelwell wanted to get over rhe line, similar to Vinagre last season. Only this time Thelwell has spunked what little money we had to pay upfront for a player on a player that Dyche didn't want.
This is where actual, effective executive management is required. We have had seven and bit years of the DoF model now and for the bulk of that time the manager and DoF haven't been on the same page. I'm not like @davek on the subject of DoFs, I think it can work if done properly, but where Dave is correct is that it hasn't worked here because the owner and board haven't made it clear who's in charge. Or, if they have, they haven't supported the person in charge fully. We've therefore ended up with a squad signed by three separate DoFs and about half a dozen managers (and, if you believe the rumours, at least one signed by the owner!) with no coordination or plan for developing the squad. It's a major reason that we are in this mess and it seems like it's still going on.

We are a chaotic shambles with no real leadership, on and off the pitch.

If he doesn’t play against Doncaster you won’t see him before Christmas.

To be fair to Dyche he is at least pretty consistent, Dobbin aside he’s shunned most of the young players
Don’t agree with that tbh I think it’s just baggage he came in with
McNeil was Dyche’s boy at Burnley from a teenager so obviously he played him but he also played plenty of Patterson and Garner, gave Simms games, gives Dobbin games, has Cannon around the team and started him first friendly, has Onyango around the team (bringing bun in at 4-0 was weird though)

It’s not like we’re sitting on some wunderkind and Dyche is choosing Maupay instead, I think if their good enough they’ll get a game, only thing I’ve seen on the contrary is Keane over Branthwaite but he also played Keane over Mina and Coady so I think he’s just wrong on how good Keane is

Even if he is genuinely not ready nothing wrong in him being on bench taking in what is a much bigger matchday than hes experienced to date. But then again we have AllaDyche .

I honestly believe if Dyche thought this lad would/could contribute to a 3 points winning performance he would play him every minute of every game.

We like to believe every manager who comes here literally only wants the payoff for being sacked. It’s just nonsense. Not saying he is getting this or other decisions correct (he isn’t), but just don’t believe any manager (particularly in the PL) would wilfully ignore an obvious potential match winning option and go with something else.

He will soon enjoy his nice payoff as the cracks are appearing, but when he does, he won’t get a club this big ever again. Not sure he’s ready to retire yet. He isn’t cratering his career over some made up story that this player was brought in without him knowing or consenting and he has now got the hump with the bloke who sits in the office next door to him.
