Chermiti will need this season to settle. It would be unfair and unrealistic to expect too much from a young lad who has limited experience and just arrived from a different country.
I expect he will feature more in the second half of the season but hopefully we will not be relying on him to carry the burden of main striker.

Start him in cups coz I dont see us winning them anyway (sad as that is)

Yes, exactly. That’s the plan.

Obviously what they mean is to take a 19 year old of a certain profile and develop him through the senior squad rather than spending a fortune on a fully developed striker.

Doesn’t matter how much is upfront does it? In terms of ffp, the total amount of the transfer is what is budgeted against regardless of when it’s paid down the line. So they can use it as cash flow now. (I believe).

I doubt their cash flow came into it considering they sold Ugarte to PSG and Porro to Spurs this summer for combined fees of around 100m euros

Yes as soon as he signed his contract his hand gave way
