He was improving and seemed a reasonable bet to be a contender for the position before the injury. EFC have to spend lots this summer so if Chermeti could impress it would help the financial planning no end.

It makes you wonder what the point is. If Beto got injured would he come on? Doesn't seem worth the risk given where we are. Why not just leave Sheriff there until Chermiti is fit.

….i think he’s looked a long way from good enough in his first team cameo’s so I have my doubts but he showed a few signs in pre-season and the timing of his injury was really unfortunate.

He’s at an age and has been here long enough to be involved in the first team but it all boils down to whether he’s good enough. He’ll have to earn his game time and there’s not that much ahead of him in terms of quality. It’s entirely up to him to show he’s got what it takes.

100%...he really looks quality. Just need a bit of luck with injuries. Much better today than broja.

I know it’s premature, based on not enough evidence - but I think he’s the best striking option we currently have.
