2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

We currently have 8 points from 8 games which more or less matches the points per game Dyche has achieved across 300+ PL games. That says it all really. We have four winnable games coming up and Dyche better make good use of them as December and January look decidedly tricky

Yh, realistically we should have 11-12 already, as I calculated a draw vs Brighton and win vs Bournemouth.

But I think we are about there where we deserve to be based on the actual games played.

we cant be the lowest spenders in the league and think he is implementing all of his dreams.

If you are 20th highest spenders then we are doing well not being 20th
Not really. We forget we spent a lot of money prior to the more recent years of austerity so there would have been a baseline market value of player in our squad (not what we bought them for which was well over market value).

This squad season to season should have at least been stronger than the newly promoted teams over those years and more recently. So yes we’ve not spent anything, but our foundations in terms of squad player should have at least been more favourably comparable to the the number of newer clubs promoted season after season. Over those years we still probably have four or five clubs who come from a lower squad standing.

Yeah, this is fair. End of the day, our squad is worth a lot more than Ipswich's. We spent about 50m on Pickford and Doucoure for example. However, I don't think it's unfair to say that Dyche has had to patch up an under-performing and unbalanced squad on a relative shoestring.

Yes agree with that mate.

Im not a lover of Dyche because I think his formations and therefore selections are questionable at times, (not obviously looking at where injuries dictate selections) and his in game management if not as proactive as I would like it to be, but the squad over time has become unbalanced due to poor management from previous decisions by ownership/Board/DoF (take your pick) and he has had to deal with the hangover from that.

I am aware of that, so I never think we had a bottom 3 squad in any of the season tho, I can name 5-6 worse teams this season. We should finish top bottom half with that squad, anything above is overachievement, everything below underachievement

The question now is that we spent 1/3 of our total budget on the 4th choice CB. We paid a price that was in line with the market, but we have no use for him. So was that a smart transfer, knowing Offense was the bigger problem than defense last season.

The table is pretty close now, we have pretty favorable fixtures in the next weeks and are 3 points away from 9th.

Good chance to get a good distance to the relegation spots as we are likely to drop in December.
I agree that we have a better squad then the teams coming up most seasons, but Im not sure anyone else has a better squad.

This season Leicester have a decent squad to work with too though

Fair play, won a game he was expected to win. Still not what we need going forward but seeing us still in the Premier league going into the new stadium will be a nice good bye from him. On to the next one.

I wonder where we would be with:
A fit Branthwaite
A top RB, RW & CM

I think we can see what happens this season but Dyche will need to get us 8th-10th to have a chance of staying on.

If we managed to finish 8th, surely he wouldnt be sacked.

I think its a bit hard to tell seeing as Ndiaye was taking chances going forward and Mykolenko was also driving forward at times towards DCL centrally...

...on the right they both seemed keen to stay back.

Not something i thought about today though as the opposition were so poor and yet cut through our midfield like butter at times.

If he finished 8th this season...it poses the question though.

Not saying im in favour of him staying. Theres alot we dont know at this stage.
We’ve won 7 in 29, 6 v Burnley, Sheffield Utd, palace, Brentford, Forest and Ipswich, let’s just chill out at this stage Zat
