Everton by football purists are a "big" club.

The problem you've got nowadays is the next generations are educated on FIFA and YouTube, nd they give no nod to pre-PL happenings.

Media outlets like Sky, they don't give us, or anyone outside the Top 6 much airtime.

Everton can be considered a big club, when we start putting practice to the preach and start soundly investing in players, being sustainable and climbing the league.

TFG aren't soft. They know full well if they can get Everton into a sound footing, and attractive, they can flip us, and that's how we will end up becoming a force.

Hello dear Evertonians.

I know it’s a point of pride to consider Everton’s history in the game but with it now being 30 years since the club won a point can we still consider Everton a “big club”? It just seems an ever long cycle of celebrating dinners and token awards like Everton giants for our players who last won something, makes us feel somewhat of a relic. I wonder what other fans and the media really think of Evertonians claim to being a big club.

I ask you to vote with your head than your heart.
No.

I don't think we are a big club, sadly.

We have the potential to be much bigger and better.

But we are not relevant currently.

It's critical for us to play in Europe as I see it, and build our profile.

How many seasons have we done that in the last 30 years?

It almost defies statistical probability, that a team who is an ever present in the PL for the last 29 years has in that time amassed the total sum of a couple of cup semi finals and 1 final. Prior to that we have won or been runners up in major competitions on no less than 34 occasions.

People talk about the sewage works next door but the biggest stench at the club is one of apathy, incompetence and a loser mentality and it’s going to take a while to remove that.

The unequivocal top 10 order:

  1. United
  2. RS
  3. Arsenal
  4. Everton
  5. Villa
  6. Chelsea
  7. City
  8. Forest
  9. Leeds
  10. Spurs

Forest and Leeds have been out the top flight for most of the last 20 years. A push to still have them in top 10 over the likes of Newcastle and West Ham.

Until a couple of years ago Forest had been out the top flight since the 90s. And they went down 3 times in the 90s. They were a small club pre-Clough and Leeds were nothing pre-Revie. Leeds didn't win a major trophy until 1968.

Are we still tied into that ridiculous contract with kitbag? I still see no RBJs on sale in sports shops in Ireland while the sky 6 are everywhere.
I hope not. Another short sighted option taken by our incompetent commercial team.

We’re a massive giant who got absolutely hammered on his own home brew, spewed everywhere, wet himself, collapsed in a stinking ball in the corner and is now currently sleeping off a massive hangover.

I think the grand history of Everton Football Club, must now be viewed in two distinct time frames.
BM - Before Moshiri
AM - After Moshiri

Before Moshiri (BM), Everton FC was renowned as one of the stalwart clubs in English football, boasting a rich history filled with silverware and consistently competing in the upper echelons of the league. The Toffees were celebrated for their passionate fanbase, formidable home record at Goodison Park, and a reputation for nurturing talented players who would become legends on the world stage. However, After Moshiri (AM), the club entered a tumultuous period marked by erratic investments, managerial instability, and a series of misguided transfer decisions that severely impacted team performance. Farhad Moshiri's ownership was nearly catastrophic, with the club flirting dangerously close to relegation, leading fans to fear an extinction-level event for our beloved team. His tenure has been characterised by financial mismanagement and a loss of identity, leaving Everton's future uncertain and their status as a major force in English football in jeopardy.

However, the emergence of Dan Freidkins TFG as new owners, presents a new opportunity to enter a period of AF (After Friedkin) when once more we can rise to the upper echelons of Football and once more become:
A bIG cLuB

Everton have a strong history which obviously contributes to our status, but perhaps more importantly we consistently attract 40k of fans to watch us every week (and more on screen).

If you compare us to Brentford who attract half that number, that makes Everton a big club…

Being a big club isn't dependent on how well you are doing at a given time. It is simply a fact that cannot be given or taken away. We will always be a big club no matter how terrible we have been ran in recent years or how much we are put down by the media super club sycophants and cheer leaders.
