Car MOT

It's in.

Now the nervous wait.

Cars 7 years old. Land rover/discovery. Just hitting 50k. I don't do a lot of driving as evidently, I'm a internet nerd.

Predict the damage.
7,142 mp/y

You'll have a bit of moisture damage around the arches where drainage isn't so hot. There'll be some belt fatigue under the bonnet somewhere. Official LR garage? if so they'll be talking getting closer to the check dates of bearings, and valve timings and wear and distances, have you had any leaks, coolant? oil? air con still sweet? They'll plug it in and ask the computer. Maybe some wheel alignment if you've been off roading?

I had an old jag in for an mot many years back. How's it going? I asked as the fella was backing it out after the brake test at the end
"Fine," he said, "pass."

Then the brake line burst, fluid everywhere and in his next breath,

"Fail"

How we laughed.
don't you have an old jag now?

TBH my mate, a top mechanic at a Mercedes garage, warned me - low mileage can do more damage to a car if it just sits there - thing seize up the underneath is open to rust etc - even if garaged - make sure you have it parked on a carpet as even condensation in a cold garage can cause rust underneath on brake pipes etc -

You should be OK - certain cars are rust boxes any rate - I have never had any luck with Ford s- chassis & inner wings etc - yet some love them ....
Also, where you take them some MOT centres are fair, some just look for work .....

I take mine to a local garage recommended by my above mate & he does any necessary work on his drive except welding - but they seem to pass 90% of the time .... good luck ;)

No, just brummmmmmmmmm! šŸ˜
