Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

We have one in a park in Wigan where we always used to rub the statue’s shoe for luck. It is Sir Francis Sharp Powell, a Conservative MP ( unusual for Wigan) who did a lot for education apparently. Not quite as daring as in Dublin
Same thing in Madrid Val , there’s a statue of a bear and strawberry tree ,( the city emblem as on Athletico Madrid’s badge) in Puerta del Sol and people rub the bear’s foot or tail for good luck.

You’ll have to go it’s a great place, I’ve never had a decent pie though.
Many years ago I was taken to a fantastic fish restaurant in Madrid when there on business. It was right opposite the Bernabeu Stadium, I’m not sure how they got such a variety of sea fish out to Madrid so quickly , but it was definitely better than the pies!

You made me reconsider as to when /if I fondled a foot .
On the "seville " marmalade it turns out on recent inspection ours is from Sicily and is not even made with seville oranges . I read yesterday that they used to use quince to made a preserve in Dundee called marmalada as they came from Portugal ,a shortage of said quince caused them to look for another fruit but it didn't sell well as Orange Jam so they renamed it "Marmalade " the rest as they say is history .

Good morning all on this crystal clear day -8° spring is definitely on it's way .I hope all are feeling better and had a good night .
I finally got the laptop up and running but it broke my heart to spend on a USB stick with windows 10 on it .I got tossed out by "Claude "for asking too many questions two days in a row and now he won't talk to me !
So now I have the Ford Diagnostics at my fingertips ,here is to hoping I connect what is left of my brain before I push any buttons.
Have a great day all COYB
