Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This window has Branthwaite for Stones + £40M written all over it.

Would you have Stones back if he took the pay cut?
Could play either CB or fill in as DM, when fit that is…
No. Would be a disaster if he didn't stay fit meaning we would have to shell out the 40m for a Branthwaithe replacement. It's Everton so you can be sure his injury record would continue. Plus what would his motivation be like moving back. Has won it all at City.
Been bitten by way too many cast offs during the Moshiri era to be daft to repeat it again.

No it doesn't blud. Jonathan Stones earns about £200k per week at Manchester City. He's not joining Everton and getting even 60-75% of that.

Now Branthwaite for £80m to United? I could, sadly, see something like that.

They are such a bin fire at the moment tho, he’d basically just be going for the cash, even if he was a childhood fan.

Better off here for another season or two, as hopefully his advisors are telling him.

I might be the only one that thinks this but Stones is a bit crap at the defending part and has been for a while. Decent with the ball like.

Delap
Wharton
Branthwaite
Pickford

That would make me watch England internationals...

If these yanks have the $ then Delap and Wharton would be nice...

Add in a couple more signings and 4 loan deals and i'd be a happy Zat ;)
Wharton being linked to both Manchester clubs this morning. Think we missed the boat on this one when he went to Palace.

Think if we're looking at midfield reinforcements, couple of the Sunderland lada should be on the radar.

Delap would be a good move. Might not be as costly as everyone thinks. Ipswich spent a bit in the Summer so may need to recoup quickly to avoid the Championship spending regs.

….i’ve not seen us linked to Wharton and given our chronic contract situation, I’d imagine what we have to spend will have to be well spread out. We have to be realistic and we’ll need to be innovative in identifying talent within our spend envelope.

The other point with Wharton, he started the game well at Goodison but got lost when the tempo was raised after Palace scored. He’s not the most mobile. He is super comfortable in possession with a fine range of passing but that descriptor could also apply to young Harrison Armstrong who might have a part to play next season given his impressive form for Derby.

Agree has gone now with wharton will only move to a club willing to pay high be 50/60 mill atleast. Agree on the sunderand lads still be abit of money but be alot less that wharton. Is a risk but makes sense as is the next step up they need. I think same with delap would be the perfect club for him
