dyche thinks

Dyche kept Everton up, against the odds, for 2 seasons.

We all felt we were doomed when he come in. Stayed up.

After Bournemouth, which marked two successive seasons we relied on our final home game to stay up - if you told fans that we'll still need to continue to sell/make a profit, and still have a self preservation board/circus (777, statements calling fans thugs, headlocks, the lot)... PLUS hefty point deductions, then 9/10 fans would have wrote us off that season too. We stayed up.

If you can't acknowledge that effort, or credit Dyche for his role - then I give up.

The 3rd season, it become stale. It happens, that's football. He left 19 games into a season with us above the drop. He's not stupid, his methods were never going to be effective and/when the writing was on the wall.

His job was to keep the clubs head above water until new owners. He did that, and I'm grateful.

I also acknowledge he's a limited manager and never the man to progress/take Everton on, but grateful for his impact at Everton.

The anger and hatred from a handful of online fans to me is bizarre.

A lot of lads made their minds up before he was hired, was a bit embarrassing reading their stuff and how quiet they went in his second season. Definitely the right move to get rid this season mind, there is only so long you can say at least he's not as bad as lampard.

Hey guys I’m doing a survey and looking for a very specific type of person if any of you can help. It’s about addiction to past managers of the football club you support and being locked in a spiral of giving out about them on the internet. If anybody knows any candidates please do give me a shout.

Big thanks in advance.

I'm a bit confused at to how he 'did very good' (5 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses in 18 games) whilst with respect to Moyes (4 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss in 10) you said 'Those four wins I thought he was lucky'.

Any chance that you can provide a detailed analysis on the 18 Dyche games? In particular, might you offer some insight as to whether or not Lady Luck was out and about at the time.
I said that we were lucky when we played Spurs because they were injury ravaged at the time, never said Those four wins I thought he was lucky” so your confusion is how you read the post. Again I’m not comparing Moyes with Dyche you are confused again there.

I honestly dont even think he kept us up at this point.

I think he "saved" us from a situation he created, Moyes is showing me that weekly.

Ah Goat. This is how I know you don’t live in reality and it’s a just a vendetta. Lowest pts total in our history at that point of the season and immediately getting a result against Arsenal.

You’ve a very selective memory there

He took over from a bad manager, who took over from a bad manager.

I find it weird that Lampard doesnt get the same amount of praise.

Of course ive got a vendetta, he made going to Goodison a chore, so you better know that I will call him out for being a snot eating ferret every chance I get.

You worship him and thats fine, not for me, but you know, we all have our own idols.

it’s this sort of absolutely internet brained exaggeration that makes you unserious.

I can acknowledge this season that it was time for him to go and Moyes is doing a great job.

You are just tied to the railway line of ‘KOPITE SNOT EATER’ and ignore every bit of fact thrown at you.

As for your Lampard point, did Lampard kick on in the next season after keeping us up? Did he have pts deduction in his next season?

As your similarly obsessed mate Mike says ‘Lampard deserves a trophy at BMD if he can get 10-12 with this squad’

*Dyche goes on to achieve this amount of pts in his second season*

You, Mike: ‘I will simply ignore this reality and say I told you so when it gets worse’

Firstly, I'd like to say that I really like Frank and am glad he is having a good spell at Coventry, I genuinely wish him every success as a manager.

That said, if anything I think we were guilty of collectively praising him too much for limping to safety in 21/22. The squad he had at his disposal was much better than what Dyche inherited, especially in the context of us selling Gordon and bringing no one in just as Dyche came in. Lampard was incredibly poor in 22/23. I think the job was just too big for him, myself. Especially with everything that was going on.

I was definitely guilty of that, because I liked him. Dyche has unquestionably done a better job at Everton but won't get the praise because people dislike how he comes across and his brand of football.

I'm glad the Dyche days are over, like.

I think the lampard lovers had the hardest time letting go and the next manager was always a target for them, hopefully they get a day out at Wembley this summer.

It's all aboard the Moyes express now, who is light years above the previous three and in an infinitely more enviable position off the pitch.

And if things go south for Moyes next season, he won’t be a bad manager and there will be no ‘I KNEW IT ALL ALONG’ s
