Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They didn't say they'd do it this year though.i agree well likely spend more than £10mil, but wouldn't expect silly season. Plus a complete overhaul of first team squad and move to BMD would be quite unsettling. I think a few might sign year extensions to ease the transition burden.
We signed 7 players last summer with no money. We’d Probably signed a couple more if we had money to put down. Now we do 8/9 players shouldn’t be that difficult, yes there will be a loan or two, maybe a free transfer. But these have money to put down on deals, and deals spread over 4/5 years, means 150mil will only be 30/40mil on the 25/26 accounts. I’d expect us to spend good money this summer

Agree with this 100% - hopefully with Moyes back in charge we’re again looking at potential Championship players or those from relegated clubs (having said that I’m not sure there’s anyone from Ipswich/Leicester/Soton I’d want)

People seem to have turned their nose up at this in recent times and I’m not sure why – most of the time it’s a much better recruitment strategy getting someone in that is young and hungry with something to prove rather than the “bigger clubs” outcasts who just see us as a step down
Not sure where people are getting this idea from that Moyes has been uncovering hidden gems since he left us. Bowen aside most of his signings have been injury prone big club rejects or highly priced players that everybody already knew about. He's not a hungry 40 year old manager who's spending all of his time watching player videos anymore, he's a 60 year old who just asks the chairman for more money to buy big names.

This transfer window is about evolution not revolution, and I think we probably need 4 starters: right back, left back, centre midfield (not convinced about Jimmy Garner, and right wing (goal scoring pace merchant). Those alone would take us into the top ten and then we build from there.
Before anyone screams ‘striker’, I’d suggest looking at Forest and Chris Wood or the RS with Nunez.. we already have that calibre, but we need more productivity from behind and alongside the striker. Ndiaye gives us that, Alcaraz and McNeil potentially too.
We need a right winger and a box to box baller and we’ll be making progress.
On the striker front, if DCL stays I’d say he’s at least on par with Wood (with some service) I seem to be in the minority with Broja.. I like him and for once the gods are in our favour in getting favourable terms on a loan extension and I’d like to see more of Chermiti. Beto is the ultimate creator of chaos and should be used ala Solkjaer back in the day.
This comes from a tired blue who wants us to take this opportunity in a responsible way. Sick of boom and bust, let’s build over the next 4 years, and as Bramley Moore proves, great things are worth building properly.

STRIKER... If Everton come out of this summer window with DCL, Beto and Chermiti as our forward options, we'll need a new stadium because the fans will tear down BMD, is the idea of having a striker who plays more than 15 games a season and can bag double digits consistently such a foreign concept that we are happy to plod along with one of the worst forward options in the league? Our defense is fine only 4 teams have let in less than us yet only 3 teams have scored less and people are shouting for left and right backs while calming our current forwards will do. Striker is absolutely our number 1 priority this summer and if it's not then it should be.

Changing half of the team sounds like revolution, not evolution, to me.

Look at the top 3.. not a stand out striker amongst them. I’m not saying I’d be averse to getting one in but they cost most money and I’d rather put it elsewhere in this part of our evolution 👍

Yes I agree some of the buys for West Ham were shocking, with TFG getting a team together, I doubt Moyes will have it all on his own. Well let’s hope not, 30mil for ward prowse, just one example

We simply cant go into another season with just the current crop of strikers... They have all had long injury layoffs in the past and I couldn't see any of them hitting 15 or more goals in any given season never mind doing it over a couple of seasons. We need someone to slot chances, the 3 we have are very wasteful, opportunities are created and squandered far too often for us to continue with these, if we had a forward who could regularly finish 1 on 1 we'd be looking at Europe.

We ain’t buying Chris wood at 33 and he’s potentially playing in the champions league next season.
And Nunez can’t finish his dinner, let some other mugs pay 40mil for him.

We 100% need a starting striker. Never thought id see Beto and Solkjear in the same sentence. Beto isnt good enough and should be shipped back to Italy

I'm a massive advocate of it. Low risk too usually. Gustavo Hamer also looks like he'd do well in a better team in the Prem compared to the Sheff Utd one he was in. Zian Flemming at Burnley has summat about him too, scored some absolute worldies this season.
My mates a Millwall fan and he was gutted when he went to Burnley. Good player...
