Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Hadn’t seen anything of Nico O’Reilly at City before the 11 mins I’ve seen of him in this Bournemouth game but purely based on this cameo in his wrong position I’d be very happy to see him rock up. Speed physicality and eye for a pass.

The Championship is a great league and the cream rises to the top.

It's league that highlights the hard work and dedication to make it in the Premier League
I agree there is a lot of good players in the championship but know the type of system you will play before buying. I watched Cameron Archer in the championship and thought he would transition really well to the prem but the 2 teams that took a chance on him were relegation teams with no defence.Rodgers at Villa looked good at Boro but being surrounded by really good players have made him look a super star. Of the two I thought Archer was more likely to succeed ( what do I know😁)

He also talked up the West Ham team before we played them -- claiming it was his team on show.

Awful, awful, awful recruitment bar 20% of their squad...80% a total mess.

I think we'll know most of the signings.

We wont be able to sign the superstars so we should be aiming for future superstars.

Moyes has mentioned Young, English players on their way up like Branthwaite.

Dibling, Rigg and the likes may be worth £100mil in a couple of seasons and be at top sides...we need to target these players before they are unobtainable.

Also go for the stars like Wharton and Delap who, while expensive now...bring a new dimension to the team.

This mentions £55mil but i cant see it being that high once relegation for Southampton is confirmed:

If it is, Spurs probably get him as theyre signing and aiming for the top young talent at the moment.

Everyone throws around 100m valuations for players but look at how many actually move for that amount?

Not many… saying these two could be worth 100m is based on nothing really…

How much did Bellingham go for?

I don’t think that they are showing his level of potential and quality.

We are going to need:

Virginia to leave - means we need another GK

Keane and Holgate to leave, means we need another centre back

Coleman and Young to leave, means we need another right back and left back

Doucoure to leave, means we need another midfielder

DCL to go, means we need another forward

Harrison, Lindstrom, Broja all to go back, so we are going to need another 2 wingers and another forward

That’s 9 players needed. Hopefully we sign Alcaraz that’s great but still this is a massive summer, we are going to have to hope TFG pump a lot of money in as I think we are looking about 150-200m’s worth of players.
Adherence to reality. Well played. Alcaraz isn't signed official yet, we've seen him in what, three games? Suddenly he's a fully fledged starter and the side is ready to acquaint 6 more first teamers. It's nuts. It's never been done. Never.
The stand out move for me from Moyes is O'Brien, well, that and playing twenty yards further up the pitch and trying to pin the opposition back a bit whilst getting the ball into Beto's feet, but my point stands. So O'Brien, we can't nudge him out of the side, we aint signing prime Tony Hibbert there, so why ruin a good thing? In games in future, watch how little messing about gets done down our RB zone, sides will probe a bit and try and expose a bit but they don't fancy it. Little guys at 5'7'' don't want to tussle with the big Irish muscle. No one leaves a challenge on him, no one is mouthing off with the wind up, and no one at all fancies picking him up on our corners.
We've keepers out on loan, put emergency recalls in loans next season in worst case scenario. Keepers and RB fixed.
Get a Digne or a Baines for the LB, get a fast as anything RW, and a versatile striker. This bit is the tough bit, get a Niall Quinn (chris wood) type or more of a poacher quick feet type like jeffers. Are we playing a brute or are we going for speed? We can't afford the model that's both. This has to be faced, Alcaraz, Ndiaye, McNeil, some Cottee like striker, that's a bunch of small guys and it'll be a smash up against the monsters playing for notts forest currently. It's why Doucoure is so important, that bit of physicality, that preparedness to mix a bit of brawn.

TLDR?

I'll be amazed at 3 first team instant additions. We need a few big lads, even for the bench to stop our quick and smaller players getting kicked out of games. Good left and right foot dead ball delivery to start picking a few of the big lads out. Enjoyed watching Digne for Villa today. Reminds me of what we gave away.

True but isnt the leeds fella hammond or something coming in aswell, just dont think will be leaks this time of the season what players we will be looking for. Can see alot of positions getting looked at scouting ect but be shocked if more advanced than that
Maybe mate but some deals are worked on for months I would be surprised if we haven't enquired about anyone yet. We likely need a few frees as well as loans on top of anyone we buy
