Ronald Koeman discussion

But that failure has nothing to do with acting in a correct way and setting a dignified tone.

I would bend the stick in your pov's direction on one other matter though: as much as EitC is a fine project, I do feel that the footy club side is first and foremost (and the driver for everything else) and that as an institution our profile being boosted there seems to be used by the club almost as a consolation for - or in lieu of - an uncompetitive existence...which is strange really given that the two are separate entities anyway.

I agree completely. I work in the charity sector, and honestly EitC are just fantastic. I've often felt like their achievements get hijacked a little.

But let's get back on topic with Koeman, so I can disagree with you again!

5 months, in fact.

I doubt more than a fraction are concluding anything about what he can do for us yet. It is time enough though to pass comment on his style.

Don't agree

He doesn't have a definitive way of playing like Martinez had, but I'd say it's too early to pigeon-hole him into a particular brand of football, especially considering his priority when he got here was to get us to stop conceding so many goals (not that he was particularly successful at that last weekend).

It's fine to make comments about the style we have played so far, but to make any sweeping generalizations about his philosophy going forwards is premature and plain daft

Burying your head in the sand ain't going to make it all go away, Ian :(

Just forget the past and live in the here and now ;)

After all, you got what you wanted, innit

And no, I am not going to say "be careful what you wish for".

Or that your new hero is telling our record signing and only goal scorer that his career would be unfulfilled if Everton is where he spends it.

:pint2:
I don't understand the burying head in sand bit?

That's even worse. Your whole judgement, pages and pages of repetitive Bile is all based on the Chelsea game?

Will any of you bad cry arses be so glowing in your Praise, in such a repetitive manor should Koeman win 4 on the bounce again? I'm not saying he will BTW but I doubt you'd be going out of your way if the form takes a turn for the better. You'll all go missing again.

its like we're stuck in a time warp on here. lets wind the clock back a year to 24/10/15...

"Can't be arsed with them mate. Theyre either Kopites or the troglodytes who've remained firmly in their caves all season until we hit a couple of poor results (as predicted). They'll crawl off back to RAWK/their cave once we get a win.

The funny part is that Roberto is safe as houses. He's never been in a stronger position at the club since he arrived. He is now Mr Everton in the absence of any other character at the club able to take up that role.

Just sit back, watch us beat Norwich this week in the LC and then see them disappear.

It's all good."

That does remind me of disappearing acts that have already been seen this season.

Scenes. Spectacular vaulting right there.

Sorry mate I was oblivious to this. Very nice work. Shows the inconsistency, utter wrongness and cheap shots (kopites) all in one.

The perfect vault.

I dont think Williams has been in his Swansea/Wales form for us yet, by and large. And though Bolasie has been productive at times, I wouldn't say he's been an outstanding success.

Gueye has been fantastic. In fact, he's getting the same type of acclaim that McCarthy did when he came here.
Ouch!

No I get what you mean mate. I just think a lot of people are using Shane Long as the prototype of what Koeman looks for in a striker, and keep saying that Lukaku isn't mobile enough or can't press enough. It's important to remember that that isn't necessarily the case at all.

I get ya.

But he never used Shane Long that much at Saints if I remember. He had Pelle and Mane with Tadic.

The problem with Lukaku is his hold up play and his ability to keep the ball as a lone striker. It's the weakest part of his game and why our attacking threat is pretty poor at the moment.

Koeman will have or will want to have someone who can be that hold up player while also be able to slot lined up.

I made a comment on Twitter yesterday along the lines of "Koeman's thoughts on Lukaku and Everton reminded me of Gerald Ratner's own goal howler about his own company's cr** jewellery and the damage it did to the company".

Gerald Ratner (I assume it was the real him) replied to me this afternoon and said "did not call company jewellery cr**...please delete your tweet".

lollol

Checked Wiki and it was his company's sherry glass and decanter set that he called cr** but he did refer to some earrings as being rubbish so I think my comment was a fair one because he did a lot of damage to the company profile.

I did think 'you didn't even say please so stuff you', but I did delete it without a sarky reply back.

Because that's never going to happen. I'm not condoning RK's comments but being a realist, Lukaku is gone come the summer.
Why is he, he is contacted to us for another 3 years

We are told nothing will be the same, but the comments attributed to RK don't really stand up

We should be looking at building a squad around him and bringing players in that can complement him.
Surely that would be the aim of any manager who wants to build a team that is built to challenge.

This isn't just having a go at RK, I was the same over DM

Just a stupid comment.....but time to move on
