Ronald Koeman discussion

If only we had been that good at Chelsea. At least Bobby's teams stood up tall when they went to the Bridge.

And he never once talked us down.
Christ you're chatting some crap at the moment. Did they stand tall V Sunderland away or Swansea at home.

I could go on BTW.

But we all know I could be here all day. In 11 games Koeman has already won a quarter of what the Spanish Owen Coyle did in his previous 75 games in charge.

Hello?

We are talking specifically about Chelsea here, my good man.

Go back to sleep :p

That's even worse. Your whole judgement, pages and pages of repetitive Bile is all based on the Chelsea game?

Will any of you bad cry arses be so glowing in your Praise, in such a repetitive manor should Koeman win 4 on the bounce again? I'm not saying he will BTW but I doubt you'd be going out of your way if the form takes a turn for the better. You'll all go missing again.

I really can't understand how anybody thinks Koeman is a top class manager when he went to a club like Southampton following in the footsteps of someone nobody had heard of 12 months previously! Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp, and then Koeman - don't make me laugh!
Ok it is silly to talk of koeman, in the Jose, klopp and pep terms, however don't you recognise he did a very good job at Southampton, whilst all their best players were sold around him?

Ian, you are cracking up again

You are letting your detestation of Baobby blind you to the shortcomings of Koeman.

Come on.

Man up.

No one will think the less of you for adopting a less sycophantic view of Dutchie Moyes :p

You can do it if you really try :)

I'll call Koeman if this form/performances continue. My pride isn't more important than Everton, that's not the case for those who happily watched us regress under Martinez, like yourself. Point is you gave Martinez 2 3/4 years until you decided to realise the mess he was making of our club. The same mess Koeman has had to pick up. It's not like Koeman came in and had a meticulously drilled defence that would get him through the first season.

It reeks of agendas. 11 games in FFS (5 of which we've won)

Of course not.

And I'm sure Koeman's aim isn't to have us playing like we are now.

Just as it wasn't RM's aim to have us playing like tosh for six months of last season.

It'll get better. If it doesn't and the results don't keep up, he'll be gone.

Baby steps. There's a huge rebuild - Martinez's squad that he built, while studded with quality, has now been proved capable of playing 1 way and 1 way only.

Is it any surprise that, bar Lukaku and arguably Barry, three of our five best/most productive players so far this season have been Williams, Gueye and Bolasie...
I dont think Williams has been in his Swansea/Wales form for us yet, by and large. And though Bolasie has been productive at times, I wouldn't say he's been an outstanding success.

Gueye has been fantastic. In fact, he's getting the same type of acclaim that McCarthy did when he came here.

be rubbish soon then! lol

I feel like they have been for us in the PL era. The club trot out these "Peoples Club/ Class and Dignity/WE GO DA GAME" soundbites to appease the fans as we fail yet again. That message from the top filters down.

How often are we saying we want our players to be nastier? How many derbies have we bottled or moaned about being "robbed"? How have we gone 17 years without a win at Anfield, 20+ years without a win at Chelsea or Arsenal? How many players have we held onto for far longer than we should have for sentimental reasons? How many times have we been bullied in the transfer market by smaller clubs? Or rolled over to let our rivals take our best players? Not to mention the consistent and embarrassing bottle jobs at the slightest sniff of a cup win.

(I realise the above adds nothing to the Koeman debate, but I fancied a rant!)
But that failure has nothing to do with acting in a correct way and setting a dignified tone.

I would bend the stick in your pov's direction on one other matter though: as much as EitC is a fine project, I do feel that the footy club side is first and foremost (and the driver for everything else) and that as an institution our profile being boosted there seems to be used by the club almost as a consolation for - or in lieu of - an uncompetitive existence...which is strange really given that the two are separate entities anyway.
