Everton extends kit deal with Umbro

So, while I am impressed with the West Ham Kits... taking a look at their range of training gear for the upcoming season, I am expecting identikit stuff... yawn.

Two queries - why do people regard an amber away kit as something so special? Last time I recall we had it 03/04 we were pretty poor. Also, does anyone think having a better sports brand supplier would see fans buying more strips?

Not really, other than potentially better supply/coverage. I can't imagine anyone not buying a shirt/kit based on its make.

I definitely would buy more stuff if it was NIke or UA for instance. IT doesn't make a huge difference for our main kit, until we are more prominent in Europe and the PL because then we get some exclusive designs, but even now, I would buy more of the training range if they were Nike or UA, because that's where you see the difference in quality. I missed out buying NIke training gear in 2013/14

I agree on the training gear.
Adidas, Nike even Puma just use the same 3 or 4 templates for their kits unless but their training stuff is quality. I don’t mind Umbro, they’ve got this retro love in thing going on at the moment with all their 1990’s kits being really popular and their recent efforts do appear (at least on the surface) to be pretty unique and bespoke to the teams wearing them.
 
I'll be well happy if the template for our kits were based on either of West Ham's or Bournemouth's personally. I like that basic ring collar on Bournemouth's.
 

Umbro always make a big thing about being linked to the club. We won’t be getting a template.

Nike however made our home shirt the same as several teams in the Bundesliga and La Liga.
 
I spoke with a girl in the shop earlier and she said a deal with Under Armour fell through, hence the delays for the new kit from Umbro.
 
Thing about Under Armour is interesting... without getting too much into it, allegedly, they are the biggest selling brand in the city (well they sure were upto about six months ago, when I had the conversation) As there are scant and amorphous details about our new umbro deal, I wondered if the multi-year deal that was expressed in the press release, means we could walk away, should we get a better offer for season 20/21?
 
Don't think it's any big secret anymore about Under Armour - there was even talk over a year ago that we may terminate the Umbro deal a year earlier than planned to have them come in. To the point where Jimmy Martin was openly talking about them as if it was a done deal. All went quiet about 12 months ago.

Yeah wasn't sure if it was mentioned tbh but I do remember us being rumoured to it a while back.
