Everton extends kit deal with Umbro

Thing about Under Armour is interesting... without getting too much into it, allegedly, they are the biggest selling brand in the city (well they sure were upto about six months ago, when I had the conversation) As there are scant and amorphous details about our new umbro deal, I wondered if the multi-year deal that was expressed in the press release, means we could walk away, should we get a better offer for season 20/21?

To the point where Jimmy Martin was openly talking about them as if it was a done deal. All went quiet about 12 months ago.

Yeah I wondered what happened with Under Armour. Guess it seems like we're willing to see it out with Umbro for another year. Obviously couldn't arrange a better deal at this point in time.

Willing to see it out for another year.... as stated above, the UA deal would have bought Umbro out... you do wonder what happens in these deals... who negotiates, how it works etc.

Umbro make OK kits, but the rest of the clobber is banal. People go on about it's only the kit for hells sake and yes, I get that BUT we should all be proud of being blue, and happy to show are colours in decent coats, tops etc.

Might be a controversial shout this, but..

This has been my favourite home kit for years... the one we wore in Moyes's last season. If the sleeve cuffs had been a bit shorter, and the socks were white, it would've been absolutely perfect.

I know people knocked Nike for it being a 'template' kit but I didn't care - it was simple and Nike are the bigggest sportswear brand in the world so it was nice to have that appeal there. The training gear was also pretty boss.

We also had two good seasons with Nike on the pitch, 2013-14 in particular (although the kit that year wasn't nearly as good as this one was).

Why do so many people like Under Armour?. Load of old BOLLOCKS, if you ask me.
 
I thought the Nike kits were fine... I even got to like the new badge when it come to it... speaking of which... I wonder if anyone would prefer a more simplified badge? Say, something like we had on the shirt in 80's? I find the current crest a bit outdated really.

yea, hate to say it but we should do what that lot across the park do.
Use the crest we have now for official club stuff. Stick it on the stadium, promotional material, etc but use the simple tower and EFC from the 80's on the shirts.
Some marketing buff will bang on about how we need the full name of the club on the shirts for brand recognition and maybe we do but the simple badge from the 80's will never be topped.
 
I do sometimes think Everton are too scared of their own fanbase after the 2013 badge debacle.
 
Yup, I have that top and it's the best Kit we have had... I know that... even those inside the club thought it was better than the kit we had for that season 17/18... even that badge is great.

I hope we do something similar to Arsenal in their final season at Highbury when we leave Goodson. For one season do the Black Watch kit with the original crest
