Ademola Lookman and Nikola Vlasic, both players you wish we kept, we brought in on highish fees for their status and low wages.

Rodriguez, Allan, Doucoure, all small to medium fees, enormous fees who I'm sure you'd like to replace.

Which is the losing strategy in the wake of our horrid financial position?
But we’re not going to get away from giving out big wages, if we want to compete, it’s the nature of the beast. We need to box clever by maybe giving smaller deals to the older players like Allan on 3yrs and Doucoure on 3yrs both apparently on 80k a week.( just what I googled) and working with a smaller squad.

Giving the likes of siggurdsson 5 years and Schneiderlin , Bernard all on high wages, is what’s costing us.

That system of high fees, low wages. Only happens when signing young players. Or maybe older players from really weak leagues where wages are small IE, Scotland. But that’s probably a big gamble, signing players mid 20’s still playing in weak leagues, why are they still there? .

Then the issue is if you want to keep, Richarlison, DCL, Godfrey. You’re going to have to pay them high wages eventually or they will look to move on.

I’m not saying the whole squad should be on low wages but the squad as a whole right now is too high in total wages. Once we lose some of it next Summer we shouldn’t start throwing out £120k at people like Hudson-Odoi no matter how talented he is because we’re back then again high on wages to turnover aren’t we.

Also don’t agree on the point of mid 20’s on low wages not being great. I really don’t think players like Soucek and Coufal at West Ham would have been brought in on big wages.

I’m not saying all players in their mid 20’s. you’ve picked out 2 examples that have done well, probably loads that haven’t.

I wouldn’t want CHO I think we could get better value elsewhere. As you say he wouldn’t want huge wages. He may turn out to be a world beater, but he’s another example of a fringe player at a media darling club, given world class status before he’s done anything. I’d go for Raphina, Neto or Sarr, before him

The lad has potential, but his name carries more weight than his talent currently.

Same for that Sancho fella at United.

Both have every chance of becoming good players, but for me neither are yet.
Great. Sounds perfect for us.

You may have noticed but we don't sign great players straight up very much. And the one we have in the last five years can't play 25 games a season.

You see no, hes not perfect for us.

If he cant be arsed pushing for his place at Chelsea you think hes gonna come here and pull his tripe out? He needs to be broken before we sign him.

A player like Gray is what we need, not CHO.

Why just why
