So Moshiri walks tomorrow what billionaire in the current world pandemic climate is coming in, still building us a new ground and investing in players?

West Ham have just had a billionaire buy a stake in them and haven't spent a penny this Janaury when they are fighting for top 4 and their fans desperate for another CF to cover the injury prone Antonio.

I keep saying it but we have one of the most committed owners in world football - the problem has been our last two DOF's have wizzed money up the wall on crap.

Take away Iwobi, Toshun and El Ghazi just so there is no argument over who signed them, we have signed the following bums under Walsh/Brands:

Siggurdsson: £45 million
Bolasie: £27 million
Keane: £25 million
Kean: £27 million
Klaassan: £24 million
Schneiderlin: £25 million
Gomes: £22 million
Delph: £8.5 million
Williams: £12 million

£215.5 million wasted by two men with good reputations in recruitment at their former clubs - throw in loan deals for the likes of Sidibe, King, wages for Benard and James Rodriguez, money spent on the likes of Vlasic, Lookman, Onyekuru who never got much of a sniff under Koeman is there any wonder why we are in a mess?

Fans need to wake up and stop putting the blame of all the clubs ills at the door of the fella who has come in and tried to make things work.

If Everton had invested that money correctly we would be top 6 regardless of Bill Kenwright being chairman, regardless of DBB being CEO, regardless of him texting Jim White.

It all comes back to who is on that football pitch and sadly we haven't signed anywhere enough good players with good attitudes its as simple as that.
You do realise that standards are set at the top and filter through the business. The most successful companies and businesses have decisive leaders and their standards are enforced on the entire organisation.

So when an owner thinks it’s appropriate to use Talksport has club correspondence instead of official communication channels, when he overrules people who have more footballing knowledge than him then it sets standards.

So whilst money has been wasted he has oversaw that.

But it’s pretty pointless telling you that because I don’t think you’d understand the importance of corporate objectives and management styles

I didnt know 3 points was won in the boardroom and not on the football pitch.

Funny how we were a top 7 side under just as useless a board pre Moshiri.

Maybe because Moyes brought in good players with the right attitudes and quality?

Funny how we have gone hurtling backwards since this owner took over and threw half a billion of our money in the bin. And yes, those points are won in the boardroom through having a cogent plan, knowledgeable personnel and a great manager and staff who can build a decent team. Everything starts at the top, if the top is rotten so is the base.

But have we though based on the last decade or so in general? or is it that our expectations have been raised based on Moshiri's willingness to invest in the playing squad?

Moshiri's 5 years as owner:

7th, 8th, 8th, 12th, 10th

Prior to that we had finished 11th, 11th, 5th, 7th in the previous 4 seasons when Kenwright was owner.

The truth is mate we've been on a downward spiral since Moyes left and the character/quality squad he had built started to wane as Martinez started bringing in his own players.

Players like Jagielka, Distin, Baines started to age and weren't replaced.

We then compounded that issue by selling our top quality players in Lukaku, Stones and Gana Gueye (the spine of the team) and replaced them with the likes of Sandro, Delph & Ashley Williams.

Recruitment has ultimately killed us - West Ham are a good example under our man Moyes of having a poor board/ownership who are hated by the fans yet are succeeding on the pitch because the management, the players, the recruitment is sound - like it was under Moyes here despite our board consisting of relics and leeches like Kenwright, Robert Earle, Lord Granchester.

Im not saying Moshiri doesn't deserve some level of criticism as his decisions at times have been poor so thats right to question - but the idea of us chasing him oot with pitchforks and suddenly we have our club back is fantasy stuff and very misguided imo.

With the money spent on the squad since he got here, we should not be hurtling backwards. That we are is down to his mistakes.

Moyes was and is a good coach. He drills his teams properly (if not a little too rigidly). He’s also a very good man-manager

Benitez on the other hand doesn’t have a clue - his coaching methods and tactics are like something out of the dark age. He comes across as aloof and distant from his players.

He’s made mistakes no doubt but I can’t blame him for the way we are ! He’s hired some highly regarded managers then backed them and they’ve failed ! He’s hired highly regarded directors of football and they’ve failed !
