On that subject, of the incident, why do EFC still make the away players use the park end to enter the pitch ? When Government guidelines changed ages ago ? No social distancing etc - Covid now in their eyes is just a weak respiratory illness - like flu etc - whether that is correct is debatable, but our we the only club in the prem who have stood by this guidance ?

As if the Palace players manager etc could have gone to the normal away dressing room, this would not have happened - if someone came up to you & did to Vieira you would lash out - as @Groucho posted 6 o0f one !/2 a dozen of the other incident which could have been avoided if the dressing room situation & returned to normal like the rest of society .....

I know our set-up our tunnel is tight, but when they are playing in the game they are just as close ......?

All clubs still do it tbf, not many are as open ended as GP to have a separate tunnel though

Could Everton just run out first, the away team 2nd ? As I stated, It's not now in Government guidelines.... it's been more or less 100% normal pre- pandemic - it's an optional rule ..... is BK being tight e.g. we have paid for the park end dressing rooms use them lol

The fan doesn’t get paid millions of pounds a year to behave to a certain standard.

Yeah the fan is being an idiot but Vieira has literally taken a job in the public eye where he can’t behave like that. That’s partly why he’s paid the money he is.
No. He’s paid millions because he has a highly valuable skill that is in great demand. It’s simple economics. There is no clause in that agreement for behavioural standards over and above maintaining socially acceptable behaviours in normal circumstances, i.e. in the absence of unsolicited and unreasonable provocation.

And let’s not let a lack of millions of pounds’ wealth excuse yobbish behaviour. Working class people are not yobs just because they’re not rich. The majority of us behave very well without needing to be paid millions in order to behave.

Oh here we go. It took 17 pages but someone just had to go there and mention a persons skin colour.

The term Thug is used because of a persons actions, not because of someone’s skin colour.

Unbelievable ??
Not the first sadly. This from the match thread last night.
No, Vierra assaulted a fan!, good job he is not a white manager

I think he thinks the fella goading him touches him when it's the other fan patting him as he goes past.

Not ideal for fans to be taunting like that, but you can't go volleying someone because of words and gesturing.

Some former players/pundits would be scrapping before and after every game around stadiums if they all reacted like that.

Problem with todays werld is social media just highlights the sheer amount of snowflakes knocking about.

Lad was acting a tit trying to get likes and Viera tried giving him some.

No harm done.
If I’d go up to Patrick Vieira videotaping him, calling him a f***in muppet, sticking my middle finger in his face, I’d fully expect him to knock the ballix out of me .

Tbh think Patrick had the right to defend himself, like when big dunc caught a burglar in his house ? big jack charlton grabbed a supporter before and threw him off the pitch when Ireland played England and the match was abandoned .

The fan deserved everything he got, but...Vieira can't be doing that. It could've very quickly escalated with emotions high.

It can very easily be settled, but both are in the wrong. I did enjoy it though lol

Erm, it was Goodison not the Grafton. If most of us reacted like that at work we wouldn't be employed the next day.

That said, I'm not supporting the fan. Further, I wouldn't behave like that at work or on a night out.
I was illustrating that it's completely unacceptable behaviour that generally doesn't happen in day to day life, but if it did people would react similarly.

Yeah, Vieira shouldn't have reacted but I don't think anyone can honestly watch the footage and say he didn't have it coming. I don't think you can compare to how most of us would react at work when I don't imagine many of us have had hundreds of people 'invade' our workspace and then act like a nob right in our face.

Fan was a complete tit for goading him but Vieira was an even bigger tit for reacting the way he did and will probably be investigated. You cannot have Managers assaulting opposition supporters no matter what the reason. It was obvious there would be a pitch invasion at the final whistle so he should have just got straight off the pitch as fast as possible like his players did.

I don't agree with pitch invasions but it was perfectly understandable and expected last night with the massive amount of emotional relief and joy after an absolutely torturous season. It was all in good spirits by club, players and supporters.

Vieira is a thug who should be thanking Everton fans for escorting him away from a bad situation he was mostly responsible for creating.

He's a classless bellend who I'm pretty sure our manager knows is a pathetic get who couldn't take a loss...which is why FL backed our supporters today.

The simple reality is a higher standard IS expected of somebody employed as the face of a Premier League football club. The very fact that there is segregation in football stadia tells you all you need to know about the standard of behaviour expected of football fans. The manager of a club HAS to rise above the provocation he endured last night. I hope we ban the idiot fan. But Vieira has made a clown of himself here.

I’m gonna play devils advocate , if a racial insult was thrown in, would you expect Patrick to do nothing ? I think we have to draw the line somewhere, say that fan was way past the line (literally lol) and say well Patrick should be applauded for saying people in the spotlight shouldn’t tolerate abuse . Wag the finger at the little b***ard that wanted a few likes on Facebook live and got his arse handed back to him on a plate ?
