Let’s call a spade a spade ….Davek is a raging Celtic fan and absolutely despises Patterson because he was signed from Scotlands No 1 club.

How is a club thats only existed for what - 10 years (?) considered the number 1 club in Scotland?

Patterson is young quick and has many great attributes, he’s also young and will be inconsistent like all younger players are at his age. What the fans should be doing is getting fully behind him and not taking the view of the Celtic fan that hates him because he was signed from rangers.

The boys played what 200mins of football for us and roasters like davek slaughtering him continuously is no good.

If that performance is regarded as [Poor language removed] in his eyes well he must not have seen Coleman and Kenny last season

To be fair Dave was it not you who hated Baines, so your opinion on fullbacks has always been a bit ropey.

Thought the manager really helped him out today by playing Godfrey and then Holgate at right centre back. Both of them pushed really wide, almost playing right back at times to allow Patterson to stay high and take the pressure off him defensively. Smart tactics at last, nice to see that he quickly learned from the Minnesota game.

Just popping in to say Patterson looked fine to me today. Perfectly happy with him starting at RB for this season.

Much bigger problems elsewhere to cure before we worry about another RB.

He'll be nowhere near as good as Baines. The only reason Baines got away with what he did was because his delivery was extraordinary and he was a goal scorer too.

Baines was a poor defender because he was not prepared to get close to a forward. He wasn't that bad positionally and he could tackle. Neither of which are in Patterson's locker.

TBF to lescott he was never a LB but did a decent job there when baines wasn't considered good enough or ready

Baines wasn't a poor defender.

He was a decent defender but World class going forward.

He was also just a hardworking humble professional. Not many like him left.
