2023/24 Sean Dyche

at least that would be fun.
It would be more fun, but not more successful, and he would have asked for new players all the time, he already resigned 2x because of not getting them, and clearly we wouldn't be able offer him that, as we couldn't even get another loan in winter. Dyche is not a long term solution, but not many better available to work under such a tight budget as we have atm.

Want us to score more goals too, but not at all cost and expense of the defense. Would not have been fun either, if we had 40 goals and 60 conceded. I prefer to win 4:3 over 1:0, but not lose 6:2 over 0:2. Dyche is the contrary. What we need in future, is a fusion of both.

He has also put in two really good clearances that would otherwise have been goals.

I don't particularly rate him but its never as straightforward as just blaming one player for conceding.

True.

End of the day, we were the only team not to have conceded from a set piece. Absolutely impossible to keep that all season, so had to happen regardless

One win and it all goes away
Two and it's...'I always said he was the guy for now'
Three and it's...he earned the chance to stay on.
Much like how our lucky 4 in a row made people want him to stay forever for some reason, really.

Thing is, "one win and it goes away" and there's been 0 this year and the football is crap. When is it finally time to criticise this or are we using the off the field excuses until he relegates us?

The football has been crap for years.

Maybe its just because we have crap players?

This current version is higher levels of crap that only Benitez reached shortly before being sacked.
I’d say it’s largely due to crap players who get the odd new manager bounce then revert to type. We’ve been in managed decline for a few seasons and we weren’t even very good before that. I mean take away the points deduction and we’re in a mediocre low mid table position. So there’s deffo more rubbish teams than us on that basis but it’s been dire recently. Can forgive it when we nick a few wins but when you draw 1-1 or lose most weeks it gets to you lol

Where we are now as a club is all about hope to still be in the PL when we move to BMD. Dyche is expected to keep us up and is doing that as it stands.

If we get relegated with no further deductions he has failed. If we stay up he’s succeeded.

City won 4 trophies last season. It’s possible they win none this season. Is Guardiola a success or a failure if they win none? So they play this mystical robotic process style football and he talks in riddles. So what.

It’s all about success and success for us right now is not being relegated. Dyche is doing ok and is doing what we need and what we thought and hoped he would do. Keep us in the PL.

It's a good thing that money doesn't always buy success. PSG hasn't won the CL yet, City took 7 years with pep, Chelsea are 2 seasons in a row mid table for example.

Our process is stabilization sportive and financial, to stay up and get closer to upper half season per season. Something no one of us would have believed 10 yrs ago. Dyche has done alright, leaving out the last 2 months in results. But I expect a way better April, where are a lot of must wins.

If Dyche had done alright we wouldnt be in a position of needing must wins. People who are saying he is doing a good job, what does a bad job look like?.

The bottom 3.

Ultimately, Dyche has us 11 points and a significantly better goal difference above 18th place. The fact that we're as close to the bottom 3 as we are is completely out of his and the players' control.

That's not to say our recent form hasn't been awful and we shouldn't have thrown away the points we did against Brighton and West Ham. That's up to him to sort out ASAP.

Pretty much that. We would probably need 2 more wins in 11 games to stay up in a normal season, but this season you have to consider other factors as well, as we might end up with 6-12 points less than actually earned in the normal season, which automatically forces you to win.
