Longest away trip watching Everton

Ipswich away around 1980 midweek
I remember the train stopping on the way back to change engines
I reckon it must of took 8-9hrs to get home

Horrible journey 😡😡

Longest technically was Lille on the coach, however Southampton away a few years ago felt much longer, we got battered with a Lucas Digne OG, it was the coach back from hell too we broke down

Gillingham 1st fa cup replay,by the special.
On route via Dover, to miss the London rush hour....
Missed the kick off ,definitely an 8 hour journey time.

Sounds like the 0-1 away win that Sharpie scored a belter of a volley, not dissimilar to the he smote across the park

It was around 2003 I think mate , Rooney scored in a 2-1 win

The weather that day was awful and I’m glad I was in the stand.
The company I worked for was a PL sponsor and me and my mates “enjoyed” the Pompey hospitality which was like a throwback to the 1950s…no-one seemed to have told them that rationing had ended.
As a sponsor me and my mates presented the MOTM award and had our photo appear in the next Pompey home game programme.
We had a drink with Vince Hilaire in the club bar afterwards and he was very complimentary about Alan Ball and his influence on his career and the club in general.
