2024/25 David Moyes

Glad he had a go about the var decision and implementation. Called it in game yesterday that I expected it from him. Didn't let me down.

Take the point begrudgingly and move on, game Wednesday night, hope we aren't playing the under 17's 'cos everyone else has flu.

I like how I can expect a goal or two per game now, and that's ALL Moyes.

How does my saying we've been poor in games and hanging on in others contradict my view that they are rank by and large?

My obvious point is that all talk of Moyes coming back in and transforming us is bogus, because the players wont allow for transformation.

*sigh*

Well you seem to be expecting much more from this team, minus 4 key first teamers, than you ever did under Dyche. You were happy to see us 17th under him because we couldn’t possibly do any better with these players, now you’re not happy because we’re not winning games in the way you would like. Parody act.

Replace the word Dyche with Lampard* and this was your act when Dyche was manager.

Lest we forget ‘Lampard deserves a statue if he gets x amount of pts’ which Dyche achieved in his first full season with us.

You’re not wrong. Nigh on doubling our points tally and goals scored column in a month speaks volumes doesn't it.

I've accepted it's an 'achievement' of sorts, but do we ignore the fact we were blown away by B'mouth at home and failed to turn up against Villa and fell apart second half against Spurs and United at home?

The frailties are all there and anyone who thinks that we're sorted out under a new manager are completely wrong.

Nope, we don’t ignore it. That would be daft.

It would also be daft to forget the years of decline and mismanagement culminating in our current, very fragile squad which Moyes has inherited. Of course he’s not fixed it, he’s had a single January transfer window. What he has done is get them performing and we’re enjoying our best month of performances/results in years.

But you know that.

He was literally in charge for a matter of hours for Villa. You keep using that against him but any other manager you’d be saying it doesn’t count as his game.

Blown away vs Bournemouth? We hit the woodwork 3 times in the 2nd half. Hardly like we just rolled over for them even if it was a poor first half.

Fell apart vs spurs and United? We got 4 points (and with blatant corrupt reffing we win both). Under the previous manager, blowing 2 goal leads we come away with zero.

Nobody thinks the frailties and mentality issues are solved immediately, they're deep rooted.

But it seems like you're choosing the one thing that can't really be solved 'just like that' and blaming it on Moyes to suit your agenda against him? We've been mentally poor for many, many years now, it's not going to suddenly disappear after 1 game.

However, nearly everything else is so much better. Why focus on the 1 negative instead of the many, many positives... I think we know why.
