6 + 2 Point Deductions

well, thats because they are doing great in the CL this seas... hang on, no I mean they are a shoe in to qualify for the CL nex... no, I mean their 65K stadium gen... oh never mind.
It's apparently because they just sell all their assets to connected companies. A couple of hotels and the whole women's team so far. Interesting to see what happens when they run out of things to sell...

I assume that by selling the women's team they wont be able to write off costs of women's team against PSR in the future.

Theyre now so far clear of PSR that it's not a concern for 3 more years.

The good thing about Chelsea bending all the rules and taking the piss now means that all clubs can follow suit knowing it's fair game. I fully expect our new owners to do exactly the same over the next year with the women's team, stadium, anything else that is getting built, the land on which Goodison is built, etc. Hopefully we'll turn a 'profit' of about £500m, which then enables them to turn us into a title winning side very quickly.

Who am I kidding? We know this is being allowed for Chelsea before the Premier League shuts it off for everybody else.

Chelsea are a joke, a profit of £128m: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cn91dg34pzqo

Our management team couldn’t even add the numbers up legally. The idea that they could do some sophisticated accountancy fudge is pretty laughable

I just don't get it, and I don't blame Chelsea at all as they know the loophole works and have exploited it twice now. Why haven't other teams clocked on? If you're somebody like Villa or Newcastle knocking on the top 4's door, you sell something for £300m and voilà you can go on a spending rampage to ensure you are challenging for the title next season. Why aren't other clubs doing the same as Chelsea?

Villa's owners don't want to prop up massive losses. Newcastle's owners said they wanted sustainable growth when they took over and to put the club in a position where it could stand on its own feet. If that's true then they won't be doing what Chelsea have done. If we still had Usmanov he would probably have done it, and maybe Marinakis at Forest will, but most clubs are owned by people who want them to make money, or at least not lose too much.

... won't they just sell them back at a much reduced price before selling them again at 10x the value? Seems to be legal.
