Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I know we make goo goo eyes st the likes of Rigg and Bellingham mate, but I think we have one of the best young midfielders in the country in Harrison Armstrong.

Chris Rigg is 6months younger than Armstrong and of course a left (Rigg), rather than a right (Armstrong) footer.

From my perspective, it would be brilliant to have Armstrong come through and even go on to play for the England full side.

If we allow ourselves to dream a little, imagine having both Armstrong and Rigg develop and eventually both play together in our first 11.

To dream a little more, to have both as well as Branthwaite in the England squad could signal the return to past glories.

Not often there are opportunities to sign young English players in the championship who can go to the top of English football.

Dare to dream :p

If he was gettable i wouldn't be opposed to it - but i sometimes read we need a young midfielder - for my money we have one of the best in the country and if he wasnt here id want him. Stylistically he reminds of one of your old favorites - Wharton mate. I feel Rigg may end up further up the pitch then Armsrong also.

Which is why i think you have to be pragmatic with the likes of Longstaff or Soucek, i think you have to have a pathway there for Armstrong - but also realise hes maybe a season or two off starting 38 games yet.

We are going to have to battle against the thought we will have 150 million to spend and will be flooding the squad with nothing but quality.
Other reports are that we are still not flush with cash as psr is still an issue. So therefore we may see plenty of links to underwhelming players

Disgrace Moyes won’t be here the following summer if this is the type of player he goes for. We need strong people in this new transfer strategy, to stop Moyes having full control, some of his West Ham buys were shocking and expensive
Yep. I don't know why people cannot see that his recruitment at West Ham was pretty wretched. And, at the very least, even if people won't acknowledge that most of the signings were poor, they were certainly massively overpriced. Only Coufal, Soucek and Bowen would fit into the old Moyes template people are harking back to.

Moyes loves average players. We need someone to get control of transfers. Moyes should not have carte blanche.

That's the attitude that has ruined the club over the years though. A slightly tighter budget should not result in wasting money on average players. There are players out there available for not much money with huge potential. It's a global game.

Any way you cut it Sean Longstaff is a solid premier league midfielder.

Not every signing can be a Brazilian wonder kid costing north of 30/40m.

There has to be some temperance to expectations. We likely need 8 players next season, if we signed two highly talented individuals then that would be a solid start.

The others are likely to be made up of seasoned professionals of which Longstaff falls in, this will help make up a squad that challenges higher up the table next season.

100% mate.

People will instantly push back against him because it's not a glamour signing.

He'd be a very good squad player.

It’s only Eddie Howe, who has seen more of him than any of the above, who doesn’t seem to be that impressed by him apparently..
He's not getting in that team before Tonali and Gummyrice.

Probably the best CM pairing in the league.

Howe seem to be think a fair bit of him.
