    Farhad Moshiri

all of his money is also tied up in USM/etc, so even if he wasn't using Usmanov's money directly he still has limited access to his own money. I suspect there's an element of not wanting to be the next Abramovich in his decision making, but I'm most disappointed by the fact that he's an...

Where do you stand on the manager position going forward?

It's not even a conversation to be had. We have an absentee owner who can't get rid of the club quickly enough and the club are back in the PL at least for 12 more months. He's going nowhere until new owners come in, and 777 look like they'll never own the club, so he's going nowhere for the...

Is Europe a Shout Next Season

Mate, this Everton squad couldn't get into Europe if Ryanair bought the club

Would it get worse without Dyche?

Who is available that would be willing to manage this shower, especially given the financial uncertainty at the club? When the answer is [insert manager > Dyche] is ready to take the job then yes, you replace him. Of course, another consideration is that Moshiri has been an absentee owner for ~...

Match Thread Chelsea v Everton - Waffle, Match Report & MotM Poll

Don't think I've ever tried a match thread. I'm sure that would disappoint. For that matter, not sure I even read many of the match threads, although I do like the pictures from time to time. (Do they still have pictures?) I did try a transfer thread update one summer, but that was so much work...

Is Worker's Comp insurance a thing in the UK? Could be getting extra £££ from on the job injuries.

    New Everton Stadium Discussion

they like things bigger than normal in Texas, but it's hard to get a good sense of how unnaturally large it is. I would say it's too big for soccer but Brazil and Mexico play there this summer so I guess we'll find out if it's good for that use.

Even in something as simple/common as residential housing, if you have experience you know that new construction is almost always cheaper than complete rehab.

this is one of the biggest stadiums in the world, no overlap (just appears that way because of the box seats)

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

...inappropriately booked/reported; without getting into all of that again, it's not as though Everton have a different set of rules applied vs Spurs (*again, not getting into all of that) 4. All assets are depreciable, that's not anything new; depreciation begins from when the asset is...

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

Hah! The idea there I think is that depreciation reduces your tax liability, so even though it costs $$ up front you save it on your taxes. That said, accountants fight battles on paper and you fight battles at the bank so it's not always the same.

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

I'm sure an actual accountant will jump in but depreciation is like player amortization; it's value spread out over life of the asset (term of contract for player). All assets are immediately depreciated and sometimes this happens early depending on tax laws. So £1B over 40 years (just throwing...

    2023/24 Kevin Thelwell

Maybe I should revise this to be less offensive to the fish man: which of Brands' transfers did he waste all of that money on, or do you mean instead Walsh (in which case, it was most)?
