I thought quite a few of our players seemed determined not to pass to him, especially that first half. I saw Patterson quite a few times for Scotland. A tip: if Patterson has space in front of him give him the ball. He'll run riot against defences in those situations.
While I agree with some of this I still think Patterson is a bit suspect defensively, he's not nearly at the defensive levels of a fully fit Tierney yet. Attacking wise Patterson is the best full back Scotland has, I include Tierney and Robertson in this.
I didn't say it was easy. I said defending was easier to learn and coach in relative terms compared to attacking. I also said almost any competent player can learn it, not that it is achievable in 100% of cases.
