3 years on his contract is the stickler with this. I don't think he'll hand on a transfer request but who knows.

It shouldn't be a case of just throwing another £5m at it to get it done. We made a good offer and have now improved it, and it's been rejected again. We shouldn't cave in to Swansea any more than their fans don't want them to do with us.

I'd love him to sign but if this fails then fair play to Everton for not being bullied on the proviso that they have an alternative lined up.

People go on as if we are back in the big time making offers and throwing money around but we are not.

This summer we will have well in excess of £100m coming in with sales. City have spent £200m already with barely a fraction of it recovered and they probably couldn't care less. That's throwing money around.

It's a rod for our own back if clubs think there is always an extra 10% to be squeezed out of Everton.

Let Swansea keep a disgruntled and unhappy player who had given his best and played the lions part in keeping them up.

Mate i honestly don't think he's worth it,but that's what they want and they know we've got it.

And him pulling out of their tour made making the deal a lot harder,An they even eluded to it,that we may be tapping him up which obviously strengthened their resolve.

I take it you might be meaning stones and lescott. Well stones hadn't single handedly kept us up like siguardsson and had only given us 2 years service. It's not as though it was his last chance if a move to a 'bigger club'. Alternatively we didn't want lescott to leave, but succumbed to the inevitable when he refused to play for the club.
The only player I can imagine we have had similar to siguardsson in terms of ability, fans favourite and age is arteta. He gave us great service and we didn't stand in his way, when he was given the opportunity to move; when the one final chance to move late in his career became apparent.
Back to my original point, we are not getting siguardsson on the cheap far from it and Everton have made more than an acceptable offer for him.
