£40m Bid Made For Sigurdsson

We are paying what it takes to get him here, fine. If the manager wants him then hope we get him.

My concern is whether him being our record signing is going to be too much of a burden on him. By all accounts he is a boring type of player, just gets on with the job and doesn't stand out in a good team. I get the feeling some fans will put too much expectation on him based solely on price tag

As long as he scores 20 and has 30 assists mate I don't think any one of us will be on his back

I don't know what accounts you've been reading, but he's nothing like that...

I agree though. People need to get a sense of perspective when it comes to anybody's price tag, though we should expect Gylfi to be hitting higher numbers than Ross assist/goals wise...

I have an issue with all this "Sigurdsson moving closer to Everton", "Progress being made", "Transfer nearing completion". How much progress can be made before the signs. I know he is in a different country but he could have walked to Liverpool and back a couple of times.
This transfer saga is definitely of Icelandic proportions.

A little update from my friend at Swansea last night, the deal is on, talks progressed yesterday afternoon (no surprises!). The interesting part is that they enquired about James McCarthy as part of a deal. They have also gone and bid for the midfielder we were after in France (Seri?) in the last day so they are already starting to spend the money.
@orly

The ridiculous prices when I visited Reykjavik in December reflect in this price. But it was worth it to see the Norhern Lights - and Gylfi will be too, come on home you Icelandic God of War and Set Pieces.

:whip:

Seri will not be playing for Swansea

Very honourable of you to self-index like that.
