Salah is fast but applying your pace here is difficult if you don't have the right physicality in your game. Hell, Magaye Gueye was described as "quick" when we signed him and he played like he was in slow motion.

True. Two that come to mind are Lamela and Cuadrado. Both did/are doing really well in Italy but struggled here (admittedly Cuadrado didn't get much of a chance at Chelsea). Even Deulofeu can be sort of put in this bracket.

I think Salah could be great for them but it is not a certainty by any stretch.

45-50 mill for Gylfi is absolutely acceptable. He runs the most of anyone, can score with both feet and does it a lot, assists a lot, doesnt hold up play for his own gain, and he does not rely on pace so at his age he might actually get better the next couple of years.

Edit: And just the fact that he's a proven PL player and speaks the language almost justifies the sum by itself. That in itself is almost priceless.

I think he had three assists from open play last year.

People so underrate the fact that he's been semi-dominating the PL for several years and speaks English fluently. Personally I'm a bit concerned about Sandro just cause he doesn't speak English and we don't have that many Spanish speaking players. Being included in the group is so integral to the performance.

Personally think it was other stuff at play during his time at Chelsea and his Roma form is his 'real' level but we'll see...desperately hope you're right though

Maybe not - but when Koeman leaves in 2 years the new manager would be able to sell him to fund his own player purchases
