Yep, i'm sure teams will be queuing up to sell top quality playmakers on the last day of transfer deadline day. All of them will obviously have been there and done it in the prem before as well. Eriksen, Ozil, Sanchez, Silva etc. They'll all come available soon enough for less money and jump at the chance to play for us.

Well Ozil is a good example...one year left on his contract so its now or never for arsenal to sell him. Agree that we have no chance. But a guy like mahrez might be convinced to join us on deadline day....or any of the players from the big teams in Europe that are not going to play a lot because they are surplus to requirements. Even sigurdson I am sure will be cheaper on deadline day than now...

But honestly, that's what posters should be doing rather than just dismissing Gylfi as "bang average" or comparing him to Ross. Or even worse, thinking he's redundant to what we have because they've never seen him play and think he's a holding middy, which he's not. Is it a good investment? That's a lot of change for Sigurdsson. I love the guy, think he's a terrific player, but man, that's a LOT of money.

Until I look for the other playmakers we could get and it's not a great list. I do like Seri, he's a decent option. But some of the others, not so much. And there have been some ridiculous comparisons. When it comes down to it, he wants to play for us, he's REALLY good, and he'll help us tremendously.
Can't argue with that.

Umm why? Swansea don't want to sell him now, when they can use the absurd amount of cash received to buy other players who might help them stay up. On deadline day, when such deals have passed them by Gylfi could well be more expensive not less - or more likely simply not for sale.

My own opinion is this gets done this week or not at all.

but deadline day is a month away, we want players in quickly because they've got so much gelling to do. Mahrez wouldn't look twice at us, even of he did, he'd have a couple of good games here thinking he's billy big bollocks and want to move on. Polar opposite of a personality to siggurdsson, i know which one i'd rather count on.

Yeah Seri is good but he's more of a Gueye with great passing than a Sigurdsson

Not really sure what the point is of these Ross or Gylfi questions since only one of them wants to play for us. Why not ask whether we should get Gylfi or James? Gylfi or Isco? Gylfi or Hamsik? These are all equally likely to he here going forward as Ross

I reckon if Ross was offered some love and a decent contract he would stay.

I like Barkley a great deal and still if we could find a way for him to continue playing for Everton I'd be in favour of it.

However I will never ever understand any scouse Evertonian thinking at any point they see a career other than playing for Everton and making them great again.

I've not heard his version of events yet so fair enough but regardless anyway I won't be able to empathise at all.
