You really think they can't find 5m to close the deal?

My hunch is there's a classic Mexican stand-off here given how much publicity this has attracted. Sure we have the extra 5 mil but we don't want to be seen to be paying the full asking price. And Swansea went very public on 'not a penny less than 50m'. So a lot of credibility riding on the outcome.

Unfortunately it's what happens in the land of mega egos.

It is understood talks have broken down between Everton and Swansea over Gylfi Sigurdsson, after more than five weeks of negotiations, and a deal is now in jeopardy.
